Creating images with characters

Develop your creativity by creating fantasy images with characters.

Overview:
Placing a character in an image can be very interesting, and adds a "human touch" to a scene.
This is a 100% fantasy course, in which you'll learn how to create your own images.
You can start the creation process from real photos with a character and background, or from elements generated by artificial intelligence.

Course content :

Outlining the character: the character must be outlined before being placed in the image. These are simple clippings, and do not involve complex selection techniques.
Adding the character: the character will be placed in the image, trying to respect perspective and scale as much as possible.
Drop shadow: you will learn how to create a drop shadow and integrate it into the scene. 2 techniques will be presented.
Light halo: the idea is to create a light behind the character. 2 methods for creating these lights will be explained. Once the halos have been created, light adjustments need to be made to several parts of the image to give it a "realistic" look.
Colorimetry: the tonality will be slightly modified thanks to a suitable adjustment.
Adjustments: finalizing an image very often requires small corrections, especially when photomontages are involved.
Use of plug-ins: although they are not necessarily necessary, some software programs make it very easy to create atmospheres.
In this course, I will introduce you to some of the effects of the Nik Collection and Boris FX plug-ins (trial versions are available if you wish to try them out).

Q&A: we'll review the concepts we've studied, and I'll answer any questions you may have.

Working files provided (scene + cut-out character).

Notes:
This course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. I will adapt and alternate these two parts according to the knowledge you have already acquired, and the techniques I will introduce to you.
For the practical part, you will be guided through the image creation process.
