This course is available in English and French

It will teach you how to create effects in your images, in the style you can see below in this description.

This course is aimed at advanced Photoshop users who already have a good knowledge of the software (layers, dynamic objects, blend masks, selections). If you don't master certain points, we can review them during the course. Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss this.

Several techniques and effects will be explained in this course:

- Directional blur :
While the application of this type of filter is simple to implement on an entire image, here you'll study techniques for placing them locally on an architectural image. To give the image even greater impact, you'll learn how to duplicate the effect, dosing gradients and playing with layer blending modes in particular.

- Combining black & white and color images:
Here you'll learn how to mix the colors of a photo with its black & white version. This technique requires prior selection and transformation.
You'll learn how to create different moods, by modifying colors or creating a misty atmosphere.

- Stacking :
This technique allows you to combine several layers, to give a look as you can see below. Layer placement can often produce very different results.

- LIGHT RADIUS:
Rays can be created by creating selections and filling them with an adjustment layer. However, the rendering is not always perfect.

You will learn how to create rays using a very different method, starting with a simple layer.

- Sky:
There are many ways to create surreal skies.

I'll show you some of the techniques involved.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to retouching images and adding creative effects, so everyone will find their own path and style. Learning the different techniques and mastering these tools will help you reach your goal more easily, and more quickly with practice.

Video summary:
This course is accompanied by a video summary.

It is recorded during the course and summarizes the key points. Also, depending on your specific needs, which will be assessed during the course, certain additional points may be added to the video.
The video summary will be sent to you in MP4 format, via WeTransfer, after the course.

Note:
The Dxo Nik Collection suite can sometimes be useful for this course. Please note that installation is not an absolute necessity.

Thanks to David, for his patience, his availability and the quality of his course.
Thank you for sharing your experience and your creative research.
I'm delighted with this learning experience, and I'm ready to take further courses to move forward more quickly in my creative work.
    Thank you David

Today was my first online class with David! I was pleasantly surprised that the Creative Effects Photography course was actually a one on one session suited to my personal level of photoshop abilities. David is an amazing, kind, patient teacher who really knows photoshop! He is able to translate his knowledge into steps that others can easily follow and understand. David demonstrated the tools and techniques first, then it was my turn to share my screen so David could see how I did with the tools and steps in his images. This method suited my learning style well. I really appreciated seeing how Davids creativity and idea's shone through to create an image. Photoshop is a great tool, but unleashing your imagination is really where the creativity can start to flow and get exciting. The possibilities are truly endless. Learning from David certainly made me feel more confident in my photoshop abilities, and I look forward to creating and playing with my own images now that I have more insight into how a photo can be created and come alive! This course was amazing and I really enjoyed everything about it!

After Black & White Architecture, I had chosen this course on Creative Effects. Much less apprehensive, of course, since I'd come back a few weeks after the first one. However, I still had a few questions about my Photoshop level and, above all, whether I'd be able to reproduce this kind of post-processing.
I have to say that David blew me away! From the outset, he put me at ease by talking me through the previous course, and then taking me back to an informal discussion on special effects - completely irrelevant to the subject at hand - live examples, plugins for Photoshop .... As a result, we start the course proper 20 minutes after the scheduled time. For David, this isn't a problem, as he's not stingy with his time.
The course on Special Effects is masterfully conducted. Not familiar with this PS technique? Don't worry, he'll explain it to you. His teaching style is well-oiled, and he knows his subject inside out. You see your work evolve, and above all in the direction you imagined when you chose this course.
He's always ready to talk to you about his work and his favorite places. He guides you in your choice of spots where you'll be going.
    3h35 later we part.
In the aftermath, always very professional, you receive the video that allows you to reproduce the work over and over again and benefit indefinitely from his advice.
I'm still undecided about the content of the next course, because I'm going to continue.

It's a real pleasure to use this training format, which allows for live feedback. David is a generous person who passes on his knowledge with passion and good humor. This course is a toolbox for developing your imagination. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to add a new dimension to their images.

  5. Carmelina Carra (confirmed customer) -

I took the Photoshop Creative Effects Course with David and it was excellent. David is a very good teacher. He teaches the topic and then he lets you practice. It is very hands-on so that you get to practice what he just showed you. He is very knowledgeable and patient. We covered a couple of different technique and they are really good to know. David also recorded the session, so that you can refer back to it. I recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn advance photoshop techniques.

  6. david Lemoine (confirmed customer) -

Particularly attracted by natural or urban landscapes, I had signed up for the workshop on creating black and white architectural images, and this course had completely fulfilled my expectations. This time I decided to take the Photoshop online course on creative effects. Once again, I was blown away by the techniques I learned and by David's pedagogy. Everything is precise, everything is simplified and the techniques are optimized to save as much time as possible. Teaching aids are provided and live lessons are filmed, which is a big plus when you want to come back to the lesson. You can also ask him questions afterwards, and he'll be delighted to answer them. My next course with David will still be on Photoshop and it will be on portraits between photography and painting.

  7. Jean-Michel COIN (confirmed customer) -

This is my 2nd course with David after the one on black and white architecture. Once again, I learned a lot. This course allows us to create surprising effects, which David teaches us with great pedagogy. We follow his progress with the live video, then it's our turn to repeat the manipulations under David's watchful eye. We're both spectators and actors, which is one of the great strengths of David's training courses, not to mention his ability to answer all our questions. You're autonomous very quickly, and all you have to do is give free rein to your creativity :)

  8. muriel003 (confirmed customer) -

Fourth course with David, and as clear as ever in the explanations, and generous in the tips and tricks that make life easier on Photoshop.
The course is very entertaining and the actions can be applied to any type of image.
I recommend this course, which is very accessible.
Thanks again David for your generosity and your teaching approach.

  9. christine (confirmed customer) -

David is a really cool, well-prepared teacher, who gives all these tips and tricks and this way of proceeding with explanation, then exercise on your own, then back to the explanations, makes it easy to understand and not feel complexed. Everything seems so simple because it's so well explained. Thanks David and well done

  10. Padma Inguva (confirmed customer) -

I just took this course from David yesterday and I am so happy that I did not wait too long for it. First of all, he was very easy to communicate, accommodating when I asked him to give me a lesson this weekend on s a short notice and he totally agreed without hesitation. I was already impressed with his work so my expectations were high. Let me tell you that he exceeded my expectations! He is very thorough and very well prepared for the class. I loved his teaching method. First, he would demonstrate a technique and then he would let me practice and hold your hand via zoom session which is way better than me watching him do his magic and forget a few hours afterwards. He also gave me the recording to watch it later on so I am going to be working on a series while referring back to the recording every now and then. He was apprehensive about speaking in English but he had nothing to worry about. I understood everything he said. I will be taking more sessions with him in next few months! His passion to share his knowledge is inspiring to me. If you want to take your photography to next level, you should definitely consult him for a session or two.

  11. Léa BADRAH (confirmed customer) -

David is a true enthusiast who doesn't count the hours he spends passing on, sharing and developing his knowledge and skills. Every minute spent listening to and following David's advice is a real treasure, a richness to be applied immediately. I can't wait to attend the next Workshop in Paris, and can't wait for the new date. A thousand thanks David for everything and above all for your pedagogy and patience. To be recommended and consumed without moderation.

  12. Severine TROLLET (confirmed customer) -

After three Photoshop courses and a workshop in Lyon, I tried out this EFFETS CREATIFS course and once again I'm delighted with the quality of the advice given, the examples discussed and David's great availability. With these fluent video lessons, you can chat with him as if he were right there with you. So if you want to discover, learn or improve your skills, look no further than David. A huge thank you to you and I look forward to discovering other courses.

  13. Mitch Zoller (confirmed customer) -

Third different training course with David, and once again I'm won over by his generosity and his desire to share his knowledge. This course on creative effects is great because it opens the door to the many possibilities of Photoshop. What's also great about David is that just because the course is over doesn't mean it's over. He still takes time out afterwards to follow you and answer your questions. I can only give you one piece of advice: if you want to progress, now's the time to book a training session with him. See you soon.

  14. Guilhem Doublet (confirmed customer) -

This is David's third Photoshop Creative Effects course, and once again it's a success. The course is full of little tricks (which you'll have to learn to master later on), and the interactivity of the course means that you're already familiar with the different techniques.
As always, David knows how to put you at ease and guide you through your project in a very friendly spirit.
I recommend this course all the more because, unlike the excellent black and white archi course, the tips are applicable to nature photos and not just urban ones.
In short, a course I highly recommend that will enrich your creative spirit!
