Description

This course is available in English and French

This course is the fourth in a series dedicated to floral art.
It follows on from the Photoshop Creative Floral Artcourse, and is completely independent of it. Some of the techniques studied in the previous course will be revisited.
You'll learn how to create unique, artistic floral arrangements. You'll discover how to use Photoshop to transform images of flowers into real works of art.

The concept evokes delicate, poetic floral scenes, blending realism and artistic impression. Flowers seem to float like watercolors in a field bathed in light. Pastel tones blend harmoniously into a blurred background, composed of blades of grass and wispy floral silhouettes. The overall effect is one of lightness, springtime and reverie.
The artistic style blends photography and painting effects, creating a dreamlike, poetic and soothing atmosphere.

What you'll learn:

Clipping and selection techniques to isolate flowers precisely
Using layers and blending modes for artistic effects
Creating harmonious floral compositions
Applying lights for artistic rendering
Advanced retouching and colorimetry techniques to magnify colors

Methodology :

  • Real-time demonstrations with practical exercises
  • Source files provided for self-paced practice
  • Personalized support and follow-up for effective progress

Notes :
This course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. I will adapt and alternate these two parts according to the knowledge you have already acquired, and the techniques I will introduce to you.
For the practical part, you will be guided through the image creation process.

Course video :
This course is accompanied by a video, recorded live during the course.
Depending on your specific needs, which will be assessed during the course, certain additional points may be added to the video.
The video will be sent to you in MP4 format, via WeTransfer, after the course.

Working files :
Image files used during this course are provided, and sent prior to the course date.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to create sublime floral arrangements and add a unique artistic touch to your projects!

These few lines are to share with you my pleasure and my particularly enriching experience. I've just completed a video training course entitled "Creative floral art part 2", offered by David Duchens. I'm a big fan of his courses!
David knows how to convey his expertise clearly and precisely, while remaining attentive to the trainee's needs. It's not a monologue. His rigorous approach to teaching the course content, his aesthetics and his attention to detail are exactly what I was looking for.
The distance imposed by the online format is not a problem at all. The fluid organization, rich exchanges and generous sharing create a stimulating working atmosphere. David never hesitates to go back over a Photoshop point I didn't know.
I highly recommend this course to anyone wishing to open up their photographic eye to flowers and make progress in mastering post-processing tools that can obviously be used for other subjects.
Thanks to David for his infectious passion and for this particularly inspiring training experience. Let's get to work!

  2. Cheryl Eagers (confirmed customer) -

Part 2 of the course was fantastic! It introduced inventive techniques and even some of that elusive 'secret sauce' that takes creative work to the next level. It was exactly what I needed to spark fresh ideas and get my creative mind active. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone wanting to explore the artistic side of Photoshop.

I have just completed my third one-on-one workshop with the wizard who calls himself David Duchens.
All I can say is - if you want to experience your imagination set aflame with new ideas...If you want to acquire new, creative skills and become certain about using them, then take a workshop with David. It really doesn't matter what the subject of the workshop is. Because what David teaches you is how to think differently, and become confident enough to apply what you've learned to your own work.

David is smart, talented, and generous with his time and knowledge. On top of that, he knows more about how to use all of today's visual tool boxes than anyone I know of, and he knows how to explain it all in ways you will understand.

I recently took the Photoshop Creative Floral Art Course Part 2 with David Duchens, and it was both insightful and a lot of fun. Unlike other courses I've taken before, this one-on-one format provided real-time feedback and personalized instruction, making the learning experience much more engaging.
David's expertise made new-to-me editing techniques feel approachable as we explored new ways to refine and adjust colors, add blur, and enhance details in floral photography (and learn a little AI along the way). His easygoing yet knowledgeable teaching style made the session an enjoyable experience.
One of the great aspects of the course was that it was recorded, allowing me to refer back and reinforce the techniques I learned. This will be invaluable for practicing and refining my skills at my own pace.
For anyone looking to sharpen their Photoshop skills in a hands-on way, I highly recommend working with David Duchens!

  5. Deedee Mansfield (confirmed customer) -

I recently finished David's new course and I can't recommend it enough! It was a wonderful learning experience for me. I consider myself a "beginner/intermediate" Photoshop user so many of the techniques David demonstrated were new to me. However, I was quickly able to add these new techniques to my own photography. David is a kind and patient instructor, always willing to stop and answer any questions. Thank you for a wonderful class, David! Can't wait for the next one. DeeDee

  6. Pam McGraw (confirmed customer) -

This class was amazing and David is a fabulous and thorough instructor! Using Photoshop, I learned to create dreamy, artistic images that feel like visual poetry - soft, graceful and full of movement. A perfect blend of creativity and technique that can be applied to many genres of photography! I am excited to continue learning from David in the future!
