This course will introduce you to the technical basics of photography.

After an explanation of the structure and general characteristics of an SLR camera, you'll learn how to set it up and control it, by studying the different shooting modes (program, shutter priority, aperture priority, manual). Exposure, an essential element in photography, will be explained in detail, with the three factors that make it up, known as the exposure triangle (sensor sensitivity, aperture, shutter speed). The consequences of setting choices, such as the impact on depth of field, will also be discussed.

While we can't go into the details of your camera's menu here, as each brand may have its own menus and specific features, we will take a moment to check that the important basic elements (which are generally the same for all cameras) are set correctly. We'll also take the opportunity to give you a few tips.

At the end of the course, which will alternate theory and practice, you will have covered the essential notions that will enable you to get out of the all-automatic mode, and understand the implications of your choice of settings. We therefore advise you to bring, if possible, a camera with the standard shooting modes generally found on all SLRs, hybrids, but also on high-end compact cameras (noted P,S,A,M or Tv, Av, P,M, depending on the brand).

My wife and I wanted to take up photography together, so that we could progress together. Thanks to this course, we've learned some great basics, which David took the time to explain to us and help us put into practice, in a very friendly and educational way! Many thanks to you!
