Photomontage, complex selections and image corrections, whether global or localized, often require the use of several tools, settings and functions. Knowing which tools, settings and functionalities are best suited to an image's characteristics means you can assess which are the most appropriate to obtain the best possible result.
This workshop is based on the experience I've gained over the years in online Photoshop courses and workshops. If a creative image requires imagination, it's also a question of technique. What's more, a photomontage has to be photorealistic. Even if it represents an "unreal" image, the whole must be coherent and well realized.
I've been able to get a pretty good idea of what my trainees generally know about Photoshop, and the techniques they use. However, some of them are not always used to their full potential, and others are less well known. The same applies to certain tools.
This workshop will enable you to learn and/or improve certain techniques, tools and settings. They will give you a wide range of possibilities for working on your images. Many of the techniques and effects covered in this workshop are taken from my various creative Photoshop online courses.
Workshop content :
- Advanced selection techniques: since photomontage generally begins with the selection of one or more elements of an image (clipping), you will learn to master the techniques that will enable you to make very precise selections. As each image has its own specific characteristics, you'll learn to use the appropriate tools accordingly.
Mastering selections is a fundamental element in the use of Photoshop, which is why particular emphasis will be placed on this point.
- Blend mask: here again, this is one of the most important functions in Photoshop. While familiarity with it is often a given for regular users, we'll be taking a look at some of its advanced features.
- Colors : as a photomontage is generally the assembly of several elements from different images, the important thing is that the final result is photo-realistic. Colorimetry, for example, can vary from one image to another, so you'll need to make the necessary adjustments to obtain a balanced result. During the course, you'll learn how to balance the various elements.
- Directional blur:
While the application of this type of filter is simple to implement across an entire image, here you'll study techniques for placing them in a localized, original way. The thumbnail image in this workshop is an illustration.
- Atmosphere :
The overall mood of a creative image is almost always different from the basic image. You'll learn how to create different moods, sometimes with global applications on the image, but more often by playing with lights and shadows in a localized way. The creation of rays of light, the dramatization of the sky, or even the creation of mist, all contribute greatly to the overall atmosphere. You'll learn all the techniques you need to achieve creative results.
- Tips and tricks:
Throughout the course, you'll be introduced to a number of tips and tricks.
- Photomontage: several photomontages in the form of exercises will be produced during the workshop.
These photomontages will call on the various techniques detailed above.

Ferrando Thierry -
The quality of David's work needs no introduction, and this workshop was no exception. The level rises progressively throughout the day, but the approaches are accompanied by commentary, making them easy to understand. What's more, the content is rounded off with a host of tips and tricks to make processing easier. But more than just a workshop, it was an excellent day spent among enthusiasts, during which there were many instructive exchanges, all in a studious but relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you David for this wonderful adventure,
Thierry
Serge Noel BRULE (confirmed customer) -
David approaches his workshops with great simplicity and humility. Always ready to listen and open-minded, he knows perfectly how to adapt to our level and pass on his knowledge.
Beyond that, taking classes with him is like joining a big family, meeting people who are just as motivated and passionate as you are. David has the gift of making you meet quality people.
Thank you and see you soon

Arnaud D'OLIVEIRA (confirmed customer) -
It was with a strong desire to improve my skills in Photoshop, a software that I don't master, that I decided to sign up for this "Creative Architecture" workshop.
So I pushed open the door of the room on Saturday morning and found myself with David and my fellow participants.
David, always attentive and thoughtful, offered us a high-quality program on creative architecture.
We were given files to work on, to make learning easier.
As with all his courses, David gives us all the tools we need to work on our photos and magnify our artistic creations.
From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., time flew by. It was dense but super enjoyable, with a lot of sharing on the part of David and all the participants.
What's more, the next day's photo outing was really very, very nice, with a very interesting itinerary for photographing architecture and applying our lessons from the previous day. Thank you David for showing us some of the spots.
Conclusion: A great workshop, expertly run, a very, very good photo weekend!
Thank you David for proposing such a program!
Thank you to all the participants for sharing your experience and your joie de vivre!

The art of simplifying workflow and bringing it down to the level of the average user. David has this knack for simplifying his courses to make them fluid and easy to follow. This workshop is a must for anyone who really wants to improve their Photoshop techniques. The 2nd day at La Défense is also very interesting as it allows you to see what others can do in terms of composition and compare different points of view.
Thank you David for this excellent workshop and thank you to my fellow photographers for the excellent company.

Alain PHILIBERT (confirmed customer) -
This course is all about creation! I found it hard to follow at times, but David was there to help me.
David records the course during the day, which will be a great help when I need to revise!
As well as being a good teacher, David is a lovely person, patient, considerate, not in it for the money, a good person and there aren't many like that anymore! I know that after working, some of my landscape photos will be different after this course. The group was really nice too. I can only recommend David's courses, whether face-to-face or online.
See you soon David, we'll certainly be back.
