Learn how to bring creativity to your floral images
Presentation:
Floral photography offers infinite creative and artistic possibilities. In this course, you'll learn how to create images in a variety of styles, using different techniques and effects in Photoshop.
By the end of the course, you'll be able to add a truly creative touch to your images.
The techniques studied can also be applied to other fields, such as still life.
Course content :
Background cropping: this involves working on an alpha layer to separate the background from the subject. This highly effective technique preserves the small details that can be very fine on this type of subject. Trimming is the first step before applying effects.
Mask enhancement: here you'll learn how to refine the selection on the merge mask, and, if necessary, by working with a brush where necessary (in mask mode).
Adding textures: you'll learn how to place textures behind the subject, but also on top of it, by playing with blend modes.
Stacking effect: you'll learn how to create an image that approximates the result obtained by intentional camera movement (commonly known as ICM).
Trail blur: this filter offers great possibilities, creating directional movement effects. One of its settings can also be used to obtain an effect akin to double exposure. More on this later.
Texture creation: using a brush previously created from a flower, you'll learn how to create your own textures.
Q&A: we'll review the concepts we've studied, and I'll answer any questions you may have.
Additional software :
NIK COLLECTION must be installed on your computer.
If you don't have it, you can find a trial version, or buy a license on the DxO website.
Notes :
This course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. I will adapt and alternate these two parts according to the knowledge you have already acquired, and the techniques I will introduce to you.
For the practical part, you will be guided through the image creation process.
Video summary:
This course is accompanied by a video summary.
It is recorded during the course and summarizes the key points. Also, depending on your specific needs, which will be assessed during the course, certain additional points may be added to the video.
The video summary will be sent to you in MP4 format, via WeTransfer, after the course.

Photoshop Floral Art Course
I have taken a few of David's workshops and courses in the past and he never disappoints. This particular course focused on using his techniques for floral photography. He demonstrated his methodology and techniques for creative ways to improve your floral images. David is a great teacher, very willing and patient in answering your questions or concerns. One of the bonuses of his courses that you get hands on practice, under David's guidance, to practice his techniques. This alone helps you learn by doing which improves the learning process. He also sends you a recorded video of the session that allows you to go back to review techniques that was demonstrated during the course.
Thank you David.

Excellent course in which David shares his know-how and in-depth knowledge of Photoshop.
Interaction with trainees, as each exercise is taken step by step and questions can be asked if necessary.
A recording of the course is then sent to each trainee, enabling them to review it at their leisure and go back over certain passages that they may or may not have assimilated.
This is my second course with David, and I recommend him for his pedagogy and patience!

This was an amazing learning experience, including techniques not just for floral photography. He demonstrates clearly and makes even complicated techniques easily understandable. David's enthusiasm is contagious and inspiring and encourages me to have fun and play with my photography. Thank you David!

This isn't the first workshop I've done with David, but I always enjoy it so much.
Very attentive to his trainees and not in a hurry, he takes his time to explain and starts again if necessary... I really appreciate his pedagogy and the tips he gives without counting the cost. He's all about sharing, and that's priceless.
The floral art course is great because it takes a different approach to the creative effects you can give to your images. I'd done the creative architecture course and here with creative floral art it's a real plus in creativity, different but in my opinion very complementary.
You'll have the opportunity to review and perfect clipping techniques, and here again David teaches them in a very pedagogical way (yes, I know I say it often, but I'm a teacher, so pedagogy is very important to me).
If you're feeling creative and don't know where to start, I recommend you take this course. You'll be amazed at what you'll be able to achieve.
Thank you David

Excellent course for anyone looking for simple techniques to enhance their flower photos. David is a great teacher and a large part of the course is devoted to trying out the techniques himself. A real treat. I highly recommend it.
