Following an initial online workshop presented in November 2024, which brought together my first two Photoshop courses dedicated to floral art (floral art and floral art creative tools), I am now offering the second part of the workshop. It includes my two most recent courses on this theme (creative floral art and creative floral art part 2).

In this new online workshop, Creative Floral Art – Part 2, which is completely different from the previous one, you will learn how to create unique and artistic floral compositions. You will discover how to use Photoshop to transform images of flowers into true works of art.
The concept here is to create beautiful artistic compositions featuring flowers of different colors that seem to dance gracefully against a light and bright, almost ethereal background. Backgrounds will sometimes be added. A delicate blur effect surrounds the flowers and their stems, giving them a sense of movement and softness, as if they were swaying in a spring breeze. The overall effect is poetic, light, and dreamlike, evoking the renewal and delicacy of nature.
What you will learn during the two sessions on July 20 and 27:
✅ Cutting and selection techniques to isolate flowers with precision
✅ Creating flowers
✅ Use of layers and blending modes for artistic effects
✅ Creating harmonious floral compositions
✅ Creating backgrounds
✅ Applying backgrounds
✅ Creating lights and special effects for an artistic look
✅ Detailed study of the use of multiple motion and blur effects
Methodology:
- Real-time demonstrations with practical exercises
- Source files provided to practice at your own pace
Use of plugins:
Although they are not absolutely necessary for this course, I will show you some additional possibilities through the use of plugins. If you don’t have them, you can download the trial versions. They can be installed in Photoshop filters.
Boris FX Optics: This software specializes in creating visual effects. It contains a large number of filters, all of which can be modified, offering almost endless possibilities.
Flood 2: This plugin allows you to create water reflections. It is very easy to use and allows you to create interesting effects.
Nik Collection: This suite of software is well known to photographers. I will show you how to use several filters that are not always well known.
How the workshop works :
This workshop is delivered online (via the Internet), and live. The ZOOM video conferencing application will be used. The connection is established in a few clicks. You do not need to create an account or subscribe to Zoom to participate in the workshop. An invitation link will be sent to you by e-mail before each session.

The video will be sent to you in MP4 format, via WeTransfer, after each session.

I have had the pleasure and opportunity to experience several workshops/lessons from the fabulous instructor, David Duchens. His knowledge of Photoshop is endless and he has a passion for sharing his skills with his students. His lessons provide the participant with keyboard shortcuts, saving time with one’s workflow, tools, smart filters to name a few items covered in his courses. I’ve recently taken his Creative Floral Courses and the step by step instruction, the repetition, time he provides for understanding, and the multiple ways to achieve results is eye-opening. The one-on-one three-hour sessions allowed me to practice what he taught, providing immediate feedback. The group sessions included valuable answering of participant questions as well as the pace he provides for learning.
One concern by some participants is the use of AI to create images for one’s work. In some of David’s lessons, the starting point for an image might use AI in PS to obtain a flower or flowers for the demonstration. Other lessons may include the starting point of an actual photograph or photographs. For anyone who is not physically able to photograph in the field or does not have an endless library of images, his suggestions can get you started. However, it is what you can do with an image or images using Photoshops tools – filters, selections, blends, working with layers, etc. being the goal of the courses. The instruction he provides is the value, for me, in taking a class from David. He has provided me with tools to post-process my own photos using his ideas, his instruction and his generous sharing of his PS knowledge. I highly recommend his classes to anyone wishing to explore the creative possibilities of Photoshop, learning from, a master in the program.

I have recently completed the webinar “Creative Floral Art” with David and was extremely pleased! David is very personable, recognizing each attendee as they join the meeting.
